Week 4

Image
We have been at school for 4 weeks this term already! Time is flying by. A highlight from this week is being able to use the digital cameras! Since we have been learning about reading other's emotions through facial expressions and body language, we decided to take some photos of our expressions! Can you guess which emotion we are showing?

Museum Trip

On Friday, we had the experience of visiting the Wanganui Museum. Firstly, we spent about 30 minutes in the star dome where we learnt all about different constellations and pathways of stars. We then had a chance to have a discussion about what we had learnt in the star dome. We already knew the names of the stars in the Matariki cluster because we know a song that helps us to remember them! Check out Room 3's student blogs to find out what they learnt and read about their favourite part of the trip!

Welcome back to Term 2

Wow! We are already in Term 2! This week we have designed and created our own growth mindset posters to put up around the classroom. We are hoping this will remind us to think positive and have a growth mindset when we are facing a challenge!

Woah! Can't believe we have reached the end of term 1 already! Today we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as a book character. In our class we had Little Miss Sunshine, Garfield, Thing 1,  Thing 2, Cat in the Hat, Spongebob, Matilda and so many more! What a great way to end the term... bring on next term!

Pablo Picasso Art

Over the term, we have completed a mini artist study on Pablo Picasso. We had to complete our own research about Pablo Picasso and find out more about his artwork. We discovered he was born in Spain in 1881, and that his full name is made up of 23 words! We looked at different pieces of his artwork and then created our own self portraits inspired by his art.
